Internationally acclaimed organist Damin Spritzer has been praised for performances that are “spellbinding” (Organists Review), “expressive and musical” (American Record Guide), and “enormously sensitive” (AAM Journal). Known for her championing of rare and rediscovered repertoire from the 1500s to present day, she has performed across the U.S., Europe, South America, and as far as Israel, appearing at major festivals, universities, and international conventions. A prolific recording artist for Raven Recordings, her nine acclaimed albums pair overlooked composers with historic instruments worldwide, earning consistent praise in review. Her pioneering scholarship on Alsatian-American composer René Louis Becker produced a six-volume series of critical editions of his music, a monograph, and three world-premiere recordings. Dr. Spritzer is Area Chair and Associate Professor of Organ at the University of Oklahoma and Artist-in-Residence for St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral Arts in Dallas. She holds degrees from the University of North Texas, the Eastman School of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory.

7 pm in the ChurchWe are excited to welcome the a cappella choral group Inspirata back to St. Philip once again for a reflective concert of sacred choral music for Lent.Inspirata was conceived when a group of fellow musicians gathered one evening to explore the opportunities to express their love for sacred choral music within their community. Although everyone had participated in various church choirs throughout the city, there remained a desire to “evangelize” the richness, tradition and beauty that could only be found in sacred music. Realizing that no such outlet existed, the group felt inspired to form Inspirata, a group of singers passionate about promoting a heightened awareness and appreciation for sacred choral music. As an auditioned ensemble of singers, we are dedicated to bringing choral excellence to what we believe to be some of the finest works of music ever created through performance and education at some of North Texas’ most beautiful and inspiring venues.
