In the Fort Worth diocese, the Sacrament of Confirmation is typically conferred on teens of at least 15 years of age. Teens can preparewhile 14 years old as long as they will be 15 at the time of Confirmation.
Preparation consists of attending 8 classes

You may begin preparation for Adult Confirmation and/or Communion at any time. Preparation includes instruction based on your needs & concludes with an assessment.
If you are a parishoner at St. Philip and you are asked to be a Confirmation Sponsor, you must meet the following criteria:
You must be 16 years or older;
You must have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist;
If married, you must be in a valid marriage in the Catholic Church;
You may not be the parents of the person being confirmed.
Additionally, all Confirmation sponsors should be able to give good Christian example to their candidate, should be willing to regularly pray for their candidate throughout their life, and be willing to encourage their candidate towards continued learning in the faith & continued progress in holiness.
