In the beautiful, wooded corner of the parish campus, St. Philip is creating an area that will be permanently dedicated to prayer, reflection, and remembrance. The Stations of the Cross Prayer Walk is a pathway through the trees, beginning and ending at the Columbarium. Along the way, the 14 Stations are marked by shrines, each one featuring a brick pavement where the names of our parishioners and their loved ones can be remembered.
Commemorate and honor family and loved ones by giving a custom-inscribed brick along the Way of the Cross.
How much is a commemorative brick commitment? The contribution for a commemorative brick paver is $1,000 each.
What is included? The commemorative gift includes the brick with an inscription of up to three lines, limited to 16 characters per line (including spaces). Because each brick will be placed randomly, please do not make a second brick inscription that "continues" a dedication made on a previous brick.
Can I choose the Station where my brick will be placed? No, it will not be possible to select a particular Station, as the parish will be adding brick inscriptions to one Station area at a time. We will begin with the First Station; once all the bricks in this pavement have been inscribed, we will move to the Second Station, etc.
As with all naming opportunities, St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church reserves the sole right to modify or remove commemorations as deemed necessary.
What will happen to the inscription from my brick? All of the inscriptions from the original 2007 Prayer Garden were recorded prior to our move, and will be engraved on new bricks as part of this plan. The 2007 commemorative bricks will be located in a new paved area around the statue of Mary.
St. Philip’s gratefully acknowledges the original commitment for these bricks; no additional commitment is required to recreate your 2007 brick.
Donations of new bricks are also welcome, as we expand this memorial opportunity to a new generation of St. Philip parishioners.
